It WAS a Pillow!!

 Well, I was correct!  The August SOY (Scraps of Yarn!) Mystery Challenge was a pillow!

I called it!  Last week, before the final clue came out.

 

I had so much fun creating this, and using up my Scraps Of Yarn!!

 

 I didn't even need to purchase a pillow form.  We had "weeded out" our old sofa pillows, and I just couldn't bear to throw them out.

So I "hoarded" them - because I KNEW that I wanted to crochet some more pillows.

And...... I did!

WIP Wednesday

I thought it would be fun to show you my WIP (work in progress) for this last week.

This is a cute little project that is I just started yesterday.  It is for a special little girl in my life. 

This is a CAL - and it is going to take about 8 weeks. By next Wednesday, I should have a better picture for you, and a link to the CAL.

(I want my family to know.... yes, this was used with "stash" yarn!

This picture is little abstract... it is a Christmas present - and I don't want to show the full item- but, it's finished.... 

(1 down, 979 left to go.....hahaha)

This is my WIP that I have in my "back pocket". When I NEED something to work on, I have it ready to go. It has been a WIP for a long time, but I love just picking it up between the other projects.

The one I'm working on will be bigger, and both sides will look like this.

Stash Buster

I have quite a stash of yarn. But, it seems that everytime I want to make something new, I don't seem to have "just the right color/weight" of yarn - so, off I go to the store to buy even MORE yarn. 

So, when I saw this pattern, I thought it would be good to make a sofa pillow with my stash.

 

As some of you are probably saying to 

"she's not going to use very much yarn making a sofa pillow"

Well, you're right.... Somehow, I thought I would have used more. 

 But, I AM going to make a second pillow - even a larger pillow 

(because I have a larger pillow form on hand!)

 

I went with a simple Granny Square for the other side.  

I don't make granny squares very often, I forget how much fun they are to make!

  I had so much fun with this stitch. It kept me counting, 

but I didn't have to keep looking at the pattern.

 

November Crochet-Along Project

 

Here is my "almost" finished pillow. Right now it is a pillow top.  But, soon (and I DO mean soon) it will become a pillow.  I have decided to stitch it to a pillow that I will make especially for this pillow top.  I already bought the fabric.... so.... I am half way there.... right? I made a border around the edge, so that it would look good on the pillow.

I hope that it really WILL look good!!
