30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Thirty

Day Thirty - Rainbow
I completed the Challenge!!!!
I am so excited!!
If you know me (and some of you know me well!)
I don't have a track record of "follow-through"
So, to ACTUALLY complete this is quite a feat for me!!

So, I decided to go the extra mile:
A Crochet AND sewing project:
I have seen quite a few patterns on the internet for little crocheted coin purses with a zipper.  So, when I saw this one, and it would fit into the challenge, and my desire to give this a try....
it was perfect.

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty Nine

Day Twenty Nine - Black

Like I've said in the past - I don't do Halloween
But, I DO have a sweet little grandson, that I am pretty sure would like this spider:
The pattern called for "googly eyes"
But, I made "yarn eyes" for safety reasons!
I thought he looked a little too harsh
So, I put a smile on his face!
 Now, he's a HAPPY spider!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty Eight

Day Twenty Eight - Grey
I am slowly running out of steam on the 30 day challenge.
I had wanted to make something...... anything.....
for this day.  But, alas, I could not!!!
But, I found lots of inspiration
Here are some of the "cuties" that I found:

Crochet Hershey Kiss Pattern
I made this one for the challenge.
But, I wanted to add something to it -
so I will be showcasing it soon

A lot of these patterns came from RepeatCrafterMe and her post: 50 shades of grey crochet!!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty Seven

Day Twenty Seven - Favorite Crochet Book

I don't have a favorite crochet book.

Since the internet, I hardly ever use crochet books.

My favorite site is:

This is my "go to" when I am looking for something in particlar

And, then mostly I just collect inspiration on Pinterest!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty Three

Day Twenty-Three - How Long Have You Been Crocheting?

WOW!!

A long time.

One of my first posts on this challenge was about my first project -
When my mother taught me to crochet when I was about 7 or 8 years old.

WOW!!!

So, that would make it ALMOST 50 years!!!!

That's a lot of crocheting.....

Can I just say..... I love the internet - and the access to "unlimited" crochet patterns and resources!!!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty Two

Day Twenty-Two - Brown
It's a waffle!!!

The pattern  is for a blueberry waffle.
It was really cute!
With syrup and small little blueberries on it.

I knew my sweet little 2 year old Benjamin only eats his waffles plain
So, since I was making it for him
I thought I would leave it plain!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty One

Day Twenty One - Least Favorite Item Made
See how sad this little guy is that he was picked as my least favorite item???

I think that is why I don't like him too much.
He looks too sad.
I don't make small animals too much, because I don't like the way they turn out.
So, why did I do this?
(I don't know!)

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Twenty

Day Twenty - Favorite Item Made

Well, I don't know if this is my FAVORITE item that I have made

But, I really do like them.

Last summer I made purses for my neices.

I think they turned out pretty nicely!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Nineteen

Day Nineteen - Pink
I'm excited to show this one!!
American Girl Sleeping Bag
It was so fun to make!!
Another niece  is having a birthday next week
She also has an American Girl doll.

I was informed by my daughter
who is close in age to her sister

That I should NOT give them the exact same gift.
So, one is getting the sleeping bag, the other one the outfit that I am working on (yesterday's post!)
Here are the directions over at Suzies Stuff

But, once again - it took a few tries to get the gauge correct!!
GAUGES!!!!!
I started with this yarn, hoping to be able to use a skein from my stash
It was obvious after I finished the pillow that I did not have enough yarn.
So, I had to go out and buy 2 new skeins!!
Anyway,
I think it turned out very nice.

I hope that she likes it.

It is getting mailed out this afternoon!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Eighteen

Day Eighteen - Current WIP

Oh, there are so many!!!
My niece is having a birthday
in a few weeks - she lives in VA
So, I have to get this one made and sent off next week.
(This is what the finished project is supposed to look like!)

She has an American Girl doll
I have tried SO many times to make them clothes

It's really hard for me to follow the gauge
And with doll clothes - you really need to follow the gauge
I tried this:

couldn't make it work
(this was my 3rd try with this pattern and yarn)
Then I switched, and worked
twice with this one:
FINALLY - I think I have it!!!
I'm almost finished with the coat, and then on to a matching hat and boots
I am going to try and add some fake fur around the jacket and the hat, also

We'll see how it turns out.

I'm still working on my basket

Not too motivated!!

That's all that I have started and am ACTUALLY working on!
I have LOTS on my "to do" list
many I want done for Christmas

We'll see!!

30 Day Crochet Challenge- Day Seventeen

Day Seventeen - Last Gift Made

This is one that I am EXTREMELY proud of!!
My great-neice is turning 4 and
LOVES
"Frozen"
So, I thought I would try to become
"the favorite aunt"
and make her this hat

I haven't given it to her yet
Next Week
I'm so excited to see her reaction
(I'm sure it will look better on a 4year old!)

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Fourteen & Fifteen

Day Fourteen & Fifteen - Blue/Purple
Blueberries
This is the latest installment of food.
I have had these done for a day - but, just could not get them into the "photo studio" for a shoot!!
hahahahaha!!
These are much more blue in person - but they photographed more purple.
So, I am going to use them for both the blue and the purple day!
(my life, right now, is a little chaotic.  I'm hoping it will settle down for the weekend)

I'm still in the challenge....
Keep watching!!

Day Thirteen - Green

Guess What I Made.......

Food!!!
My sweet little grandson LOVES pears!
(Pattern here)
(the picture isn't great - but, it is green!)
At the end of last Christmas season, I started this stocking.
I just wasn't motivated to finish it up!
But, I am committed to finish it - and display it this Christmas!

30 Day Crochet Challenge- Day Ten

Day Ten - Yellow
I have to be honest...
not really a fan of yellow.
Don't wear it a lot
Don't crochet with it a lot.
I made a banana:
And, I also used it in my WIP afghan:

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Nine

Day Nine - Least Favorite Yarn

This bad boy:
I beleive this is the WORST yarn known to man!!

I made a scarf with it:
I said bad words to it the whole time I was making it -
It is so "furry" that it catches on the hook with the previous row......
Then, for some reason - too much time had passed, and I bought ANOTHER skein...
What was I thinking?????
I didn't even finish the project... it took me about 2 rows to remember my hatred!!

BTW - I love the scarf... it's so soft and cuddly!!

30 Day Crochet Challenge - Day Eight

Day Eight - Favorite Yarn

I really don't have a favorite brand of yarn.
I have a "least" favorite brand - but that is for tomorrow.

Then, I was thinking color.... I love the darker colors - browns, burgundys, tans,

I was trying to think of something that I made in browns that I have never blogged about:

I made this couch arm cover without a pattern.  I saw the idea on the internet - and then just started crocheting, until it fit well, and looked good.

(I have since changed couches, and don't use them.... (sad face)
